Behind the Desk: What We Have Been Working On
A humble update on the coins, collector pages, and live auction preview we have prepared since our last Behind the Desk note.
It has been a full ten days behind the desk at Pops Change Exchange. Much of that time has been spent photographing coins, checking descriptions, organizing collection records, and giving each piece a clear place where visitors can take a closer look.
We are grateful for the interest people have shown in the coins and family stories we have shared. We also know that a busy stretch can make it hard to see what is new, so this note is a simple look at what has been added since our last Behind the Desk post.
Fifty more listings prepared with care
Since August 11, we have prepared and published 50 additional listings from several groups. Some have already sold or moved to a different stage, which is why the number you see in the current Pops Change Exchange shop may be different when you visit.
The work has included Washington quarters, Morgan dollars, a Franklin half dollar, Indian Head cents, Liberty Head nickels, Lincoln Wheat cents, two cent pieces, and a small group of Walking Liberty half dollars. Many of the newest pieces come from The Weekley Collection, where the known family history stays connected to the coins.
We do not take for granted what goes into a useful listing. The date, mint, recorded grade, photographs, collection connection, and condition notes all deserve a careful look. Every raw coin in these groups remains uncertified unless its individual page clearly says otherwise, and the photographs are there so collectors can make their own judgment.
Our first Whatnot collaboration with SELLIT74
The next step is a live coin auction on Thursday, August 27 at 8:00 AM Eastern. Pops Change Exchange is presenting the sale in collaboration with SELLIT74 on Whatnot. You can also open the live Whatnot event now and save it there.
The full live auction is expected to include more than 200 items, with every item beginning at one dollar. Our Pops Change Exchange auction preview currently gives you a quieter look at 24 Weekley Collection coins before the live pace begins. More information may be added as the sale gets closer.

Five pieces from the auction preview
The preview includes early copper, familiar collector favorites, and several better dates. Here are five pieces that show the range of the group. Open any card to see the exact obverse and reverse photographs, the recorded grade, and the notes attached to that coin.
These are raw, uncertified coins. The grades shown are estimates from our intake records, not grades guaranteed by a third party. Please use the photographs and the individual preview pages when deciding what interests you.
The auction preview has all 24 coins currently included, along with the reminder form.
New pages for thoughtful coin gifts
We have also opened a new Coin Gifts guide for people who want to give something with a date, a story, or a lasting connection. It brings together several ways to begin, including milestone keepsakes, closing gifts, retirement gifts, and heritage boards.
These pages are meant to make the first conversation easier. You do not need to know every coin term before asking for help. A year, an occasion, a family story, or a comfortable budget is enough to begin. Our Birth Year Coin Boards remain available for people who want to build a display around one meaningful year.
More collector reading
Two new articles have joined the journal since the last desk note. Grading Capped Bust Half Dollars looks at the difference between honest wear, a weaker strike, and the character of original surfaces. Original Surfaces or Cleaning offers a similar careful look at Seated Liberty half dollars.
Both articles are intended as calm starting points. They cannot replace seeing a coin in hand, but they can help a collector know what questions to ask and what details deserve another look.
