Pops Change Exchange

Estate and family collections

Coin collection guidance that respects the family story.

When coins pass from one generation to the next, deciding what to preserve, share, grade, or sell can feel overwhelming. Pops brings experienced numismatic guidance to your location and works at the pace that feels comfortable for your family.

A collection with history

Clarity without losing sight of what the coins mean.

A family collection may carry financial value, memories, and questions that cannot be answered by looking at a price list alone. You may invite family members to take part or meet with Pops one-on-one. The goal is the same: organize what you have, explain what it may be worth, and give you room to decide what happens next.

You can preserve important keepsakes, divide a collection among relatives, prepare selected coins for grading or auction, consider a direct sale, or combine several of those choices.

Every collection begins with a conversation about the coins, the people who kept them, and what the family wants to do next.

04

Grading guidance

Learn which pieces may warrant third-party certification and which grading service may be a better fit for a particular type of coin.

05

Auction and specialist guidance

Exceptional pieces can be considered for established auction houses or specialized dealers when that path may serve the collection better.

Ultimate price transparency

See the references behind the numbers.

Values are researched live in front of you whenever practical. Pops explains what each source represents and why wholesale, retail, auction, and direct-offer figures may differ.

When a specialist may be the better choice

Guidance beyond a direct sale.

High-end or unusual collections may benefit from a major auction house or a specialist with the right group of buyers. Pops can help you understand and prepare for possible placement with firms such as Stack’s Bowers Galleries, GreatCollections, Heritage Auctions, Christie’s, or a specialized high-end show dealer such as West Coast Coins.

Simple, risk-conscious terms

No upfront evaluation fee.

Pops does not charge an upfront fee to come to your location, evaluate the collection, and begin the curation process.

10%

Transparent compensation

The curation service fee is 10% of the collection’s total value. The basis used for that value and the expected fee are reviewed with you as part of the service.

Flexible payment

If you sell all or part of the collection to Pops Change Exchange, the curation fee can be deducted from the transaction instead of being paid separately.

Questions families often ask

Start with the choice that matters to you.

Do we have to sell the collection?

No. The review can help you preserve family pieces, divide or organize the collection, consider grading, explore an auction, sell selected coins, or decide to keep everything.

Can family members be present?

Yes. You may invite family members to participate or choose a private one-on-one visit. Pops adapts the conversation to your comfort level.

Will every coin need to be graded?

No. Pops identifies the pieces for which the likely benefits of third-party grading may justify the cost and time involved.

Patient guidance from the first box to the final decision

Tell Pops about your family’s collection.

Begin with what you know. It is fine if the collection is unsorted or you are unsure what is inside.
